Judging from this lengthy apology, Madonna has had a change of heart about her use of the n-word.

The singer used the racial slur to describe her White son in an Instagram post yesterday and now she said she regrets that decision.

“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N-word on Instagram,” she released in a statement. “It was not meant as a racial slur…I am not a racist.”

“There’s no way to defend the use of the word,” she continued. “It was all about intention…It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is White. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression.”

She added, “Forgive me.”

Madonna shared the controversial post with her Instagram followers yesterday. Along a photo of her son in a boxing ring, she wrote “No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out!” along with the hashtag “#disni–a.”

She quickly deleted the comment and wrote, “Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d–k haters!”
