Actress Lupita Nyong’o, the Golden Globe nominee who blew audiences away with her performance in “12 Years a Slave,” is making her “Vogue” debut in the January 2014 issue (on newsstands Dec. 23)!

The dynamic star previously revealed to “Vogue” in their “The Backstory” series that she had wanted to be an actress since the age of 5, but what really made her go for it was watching the “The Color Purple.” ” When I saw Whoopi Goldberg and she looked like me…I was like ‘oh, I could do this! I could do this for a living,” she said, adding, “That’s when I feel it really became a bug.”
