Who is K. Michelle? She is a singer and one of the stars of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

Born Kimberly Michelle Pate, K. Michelle first gained attention for her single “Fakin’ It” featuring Missy Elliott. She released a few more singles, including “I Just Can’t Do This,” before going into the studio to work on a debut album.

In 2012, K. Michelle joined the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” But after a fight with fellow cast member Mimi Faust, K. Michelle announced she was leaving the show—to join “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” Of the spinoff, she said, “Coming to New York is basically setting up my own show. It’ll kind of be my own show within ‘Love & Hip Hop.” She called the Atlanta show a “great stepping stone.”

Earlier this year, K. Michelle released a single from her upcoming album, “Rebellious Soul.” The song, titled “I Just Wanna,” was released on iTunes and YouTube on April 22, 2013. The album is set to be released August 13.

In addition to moving to the New York edition of “Love & Hip Hop,” K. Michelle recently revealed that she’s dating former NFL football player Chad Johnson. “We are going to dinner and we are being friends, and we’re talking on the phone, and he’s courting,” she said.
