Like everyone else in the world, I was glued to my television, popcorn in hand, watching Beyoncé‘s HBO documentary “Life Is But A Dream.” In the intimate 90-minute special, we got to see a different side of the Grammy-award winner. She showed vulnerability, how hard she works to pull off her amazing performances and her softer side. Take a gander at our list of the seven things we learned from the mega-star.

MUST READ: What We Learned From Beyonce’s Interview On ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’

1. Beyoncé can really sing.

While singing “Listen” a capella in the backseat of a car, or in the studio recording “I Care” not only do you hear the range in her voice, but you saw raw emotion. Coming off of her inauguration National Anthem scandal, to hear Beyonce not just sing but sang, she definitely silenced all the haters. *snaps for the kids*

2. Beyoncé is naturally beautiful.

It’s easy to be gorgeous with a team of people whose entire goal is to make you look flawless–you would be too. But in the intimate video footage, we often saw the singer with no makeup. We saw Beyoncé’s flawless skin, gorgeous light brown eyes and beautiful smile. There’s no denying her beauty and we can now see why Jay is so smitten!

3. She’s is all about her girls.

“I love my husband, but there’s nothing like a conversation with a woman who understands you. I grow from those conversations. I need my sisters.” Beyoncé is a firm believer in being around women and helping women uplift themselves. She showed footage of her Solange and Kelly Rowland singing and just playing around having a good time, which was refreshing and fun.
