Racist Tweets Circulate After “Hunger Games” Character Rue Is Black
Suzanne Collins’ trilogy “Hunger Games,” made its debut this weekend, grossing over $155 million at the box office. It opened to rave reviews and then there were the racist tweets referring to character Rue as a “n*gger.” Though Rue was described in the book as having “dark skin,” some folks were particularly disturbed that it proved true in the movie.
