Naomi Campbell Models Fur After Posing For PETA
Naomi Campbell is making headlines again, and it’s not for throwing phones, being publicly intoxicated, or reprimanding the industry for neglecting Black models. This time around, it’s for going back on her word. The icon is making heads turn at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) after signing on to be the face of Dennis Basso’s 2009/2010 Fall/Winter Fur Campaign. This wouldn’t be such a big deal if Naomi herself hadn’t posed in one of PETA’s now infamous “I Would Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ads (above) – Eva Mendes, Khloe Kardashian, Nia Long have all done the same. When asked about the contradiction, the model seemed unapologetically at peace with her decision… and with the organization. “Yes, I am wearing fur, but I have also made up with that guy from PETA”.
