After Saturday’s blowout embarrassment, this Yankee fan was oh so happy today.  Today’s game vs the Oakland A’s was one of those games that was fun to watch.  From good hitting to good pitching, it was an all around exciting game.

The Yankee bats came alive today and so did our bullpen (who I wonder about this season).

A record-setting 26th Bronx home run belonged to Melky Cabrera, who belted his second roundtripper of the afternoon and ended the first extra-innings affair at the new ballpark, lifting the Yankees to a 9-7 victory over the A’s in the bottom of the 14th inning.

Every Yankee starter had a hit today, something we haven’t seen this season (granted the season is early), let’s hope this hitting streak continues, as we travel to Fenway Park to face our much-hated division rival Red Sox this weekend.

Both teams have started out of the gate a bit slow this season, but are quickly rising to their customary 1-2 positions in the division.  There is nothing more exciting than a Yankee-Red-Sox series, so we are amped and ready for this weekend’s showdown.

Let’s go Yankees!!!
