After gracing the covers of various magazines, such as Vogue, O and the New Yorker, First Lady Michelle Obama is about to become a comic book hero.

The comic portrays Mrs Obama’s childhood in Chicago, her university days at Princeton and the journey to the White House with her husband.

However there is no place in the script for Mrs Obama’s young daughters. That could be a way to avoid the criticism that followed a toy company’s decision to release dolls bearing a striking resemblance to the girls a few months ago.

In other news, Michelle Obama recently dined on southern cuisine at B. Smith’s Restaurant in Union Station (Washington, D.C.) with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. She sat in the restaurant’s private First Lady’s Quarters, a room of historic significance.

B. Smith’s is located in the original Presidential Suite at Union Station. In the early 1900’s – before Air Force One – the President traveled across the United States aboard luxurious railroad cars. Prompted by the assassinations of Presidents Garfield and McKinley, the directors of Union Station felt it was unsafe for the president and First Lady to board his train through the general terminal and instead commissioned construction of an adjacent Presidential Suite, the storied venue that now serves as B. Smith’s dining room.

Within the Presidential Suite, the First Lady had her own quarters. This intimate space served as a private dressing room & is the place that the current First Lady just had lunch!
