Our favorite ‘Classic Man’ continued to wow us with his red carpet style and his daily delivered freestyles. From shutting down festival stages to sold out concerts, the eccentric vibe Jidenna is serving is being gobbled up by everyone, including us.
We are so glad that Safaree isn’t standing in Nicki Minaj’s shadow anymore, because the man is fine. After his epic breakup with the Queen Of The Barbie’s, the rapper went on to star in ‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.’ The Jamaican sex symbol unashamedly showed off his six pack on pretty much every episode. God bless coconut oil and fur.

Trevante Rhodes is on the fast track to Hollywood fame, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. The 26-year-old athlete went from track star to movie star in the blink of an eye. With his breakout role in ‘Moonlight,’ he caught the attention of critics and women who were smitten by his smile. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
Common unashamedly belongs to Black women. The lyricist boldly proclaimed his love for Black women as he did press for his new woke album ‘Black America Again.’ As always, our favorite Chicagoan is telling the story of the pain and glory of this era–and we are forever grateful for his honesty and talent.
5. Mahersala AliSource:Getty
Although Mahersala is no new cat to the game, 2016 was the year Ali broke into mainstream in a big way. His roles in ‘Hidden Figures,’ critically lauded ‘Moonlight’ and the Netflix original ‘Luke Cage,’ were definitive moments for his career. After snagging the ‘Critics Choice Award’ for Best Supporting Actor, we are sure this accolade is telling of many more to come.
6. Shemar MooreSource:Getty
Shemar Moore has been proudly wearing the heartthrob crown for decades. After exiting his ‘Criminal Minds’ post, the actor starred in his new film ‘The Bounce Back,’ where he tackled the role of a relationship guru. Seeing how good he is with the ladies, this role fit right in with his sex appeal.
Our favorite R&B crooner made his comeback this year with a new movie and album. His soulful record ‘Hard 2 Love’ released with positive reviews, and Usher trained ruthlessly for his role as Sugar Ray Leonard in ‘Hands Of Stone.’ From acting to singing, we would call 2016 one of the best years of his career.
8. Idris ElbaSource:Getty
Our favorite British gent expanded his talent repertoire to include kickboxing and Djing this year. In October, the 44-year-old scored his first win in the sport at London’s York Hall. The actor also dropped a house-heavy music track. Is there anything this man can’t do? (Other than make us melt?)
9. Morris ChestnutSource:Getty
Morris has been the chocolate G.O.A.T in the game since the 90s, and this year was no different. Making waves in primetime TV as Dr. Rosewood and on screen as a conflicted father-to-be in ‘When The Bough Breaks,’ this jack-of-all-trades balances the silver screen and small screen effortlessly and sexily.
10. Kofi SiriboeSource:Getty
Kofi Siriboe’s melanin permeated through the screen when he took on the role of a single dad in ‘Queen Sugar.’ The actor quickly became a social media and fashion fav, as he posted picture after picture of his dapper looks.
11. Jay EllisSource:Getty
We’ve been checking for Mr. Ellis since he became the ‘new Derwin’ on ‘The Game,’ but he quickly showed us his sexy swag goes beyond his role on the field. When he debuted as Issa Rae’s lazy ass boyfriend on the HBO hit ‘Insecure,’ we were simultaneously annoyed and obsessed with him all over again.
