What a legendary moment! At the 2003 BET Awards, the godfather of soul, James Brown, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the late great Michael Jackson. What made this moment even more special was catching MJ and James Brown bust a few moves together on stage!
3. Will & Jada Smith Host 2005 BET Awards
Destiny’s Child left the audience feeling quite lusty after their “Cater 2 U” lap dance performance at the 2005 BET Awards so it was only right that the hosts of the evening, Will and Jada Smith, joined in on the fun. This cute moment between the couple always sticks out in my mind: when Will attempted to do a little serenading of his own after taking some notes from Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle.

It was only one year prior that the world lost the King of Pop and that CB was involved in a domestic violence incident. It’s no secret that Breezy idolizes MJ and when he performed “Man in the Mirror” in tribute, he couldn’t help but to break down in tears, which many believed were both for MJ’s memory and for his own battles.
7. Cissy Houston Pays Tribute To Whitney Houston At 2012 BET Awards
This moment will forever be a tear jerker. After an extraordinary tribute to the late Whitney Houston, her mother, Cissy Houston, took the the stage to sing “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in honor of her daughter. Cissy sang her heart out for Whitney and the moment was extremely emotional for everyone.

R.Kelly took us down memory lane at the 2013 BET Awards when he performed a melody of his hits such as “12 Play,” “You Remind Me” and “Ignition”. Only the King of R&B could revive his most memorable and dirtiest hits with a choir serenading the audience before taking the stage to close out the melody to a standing ovation.
