January generally marks the start of so many things. It’s the first month of the new year, and usually is the time where many people make promises that they have no real intention of keeping over the next 12 months. While outside it’s becoming more frigid, such is not the case in the world of sports. In fact, with the start of the NFL playoffs last weekend–as R. Kelly famously sang back in the 12 Play days– the temperature’s rising. If you want some real quality time this month with your man, consider joining him on the couch for the next two weekends. It’s the countdown to the Super Bowl, which will be held in icy Indianapolis on February 5th. But while the Super Bowl is mostly about the big event’s pomp and circumstance, the real action is actually taking place right now with the money on the line for the remaining teams. Describing the next two weeks in the NFL as “intense” is an understatement. Who will be left standing come Super Bowl weekend?  Here’s a few reasons for you to join the action this weekend:

Introducing Victor Cruz

Ladies, you know I will never steer you wrong. It’s likely that if you do not live in the New York Tri-state area then you probably haven’t paid much attention to New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz. That needs to change. Keep your eyes on number 80. You will totally understand this statement once you experience him live. He has become an immediate fan favorite this season, partly because of his lighting-fast and the fact that he leads the team in touchdown catches. He is pure entertainment. And each time Cruz scores, you need to pay attention because it’s all about his signature touchdown salsa dance!

The Giants take on the defending champion Green Bay Packers this Sunday. The Packers only lost one regular season game. Needless to say, It will be a fight to see which team advances to the next round but keep your eyes on Cruz. You won’t be mad at all. Aye papi!
