Kanye West and Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated “Fame Kills” tour is over before it even began. Just days after announcing dates, releasing a video promo, and revealing details regarding the concert, it’s been canceled. No explanation was provided and refunds were said to be available for all those who already purchased tickets.

Just last week, Lady Gaga spoke excitedly about the tour:

“We’re on each end of the stage, and I want to get to where Kanye is, which is ‘the fame. And he wants to get where I am, which is home and humble beginnings. For the whole show, we are battling each other [for their positions]. It’s been a really incredible creative experience.”

“The stage is called a traverse. It’s something that we designed together. It’s not really in-the-round; it’s more of a runway. … [It extends] from one end to the other so the audience can see everywhere from 360.”

“We did not do this tour for each other. We did this tour for everybody else. We wanted to do something that no one has ever seen. We wanted our fans to feel like we were doing something special and we wanted to merge two groups of fans – two different [groups of] music lovers into one room. He’s going to play every Kanye West hit, which is a lot, one after the other. I’m going to play all my hit records which, knock on wood, I had a lot this year. And then I’m going to play all my new music and then do a ton of duets.”

Hm, what do you think the really the reason was?

“Kanye Not Taking “Time Off,” Touring With Gaga!”

He almost had us fooled! When Kanye West, the big-time rapper with an ego to match, sat down with Jay Leno on his talk show, ‘Ye said that he’d never taken time off from music before and planned on doing so to “reflect” on himself, after admitting that his late mother would have been very disappointed in his actions.

But just when we thought Kanye would go into hiding, we get word that he has instead decided to join Lady GaGa on tour starting this fall. The tour is coincidentally titled, “Fame Kills” – like, fame kills Kanye’s common sense, fame kills Kanye’s modesty, fame kills – in this case – Lady GaGa herself, because if you haven’t seen his soon-to-be co-headliner in action, watch the clip below now. Her performance is way too gory for our taste, but she does have an interesting take on being a celebrity in this day-and-age. The lyrics read:

“Don’t stop for anyone / We’re plastic / But we’ll still have fun / I’m your biggest fan / I’ll follow you until you love me, paparazzi.”

Things get weird around the 3:15 mark:
