It was homicide –caused by a deadly combination of drugs which included the powerful anesthetic Propofol.

Moments ago, The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office finally released the official cause of death of pop superstar Michael Jackson.

In a statement sent to RadarOnline.com, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said:

“The drugs PROPOFOL and LORAZEPAM were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson’s death. Other drugs detected were: Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine.”

Despite releasing the cause of death, the Coroner’s Office has opted not to release the full autopsy report.

Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, has been a focal point of the investigation ever since Jackson died of cardiac arrest June 25th at his rented mansion in Holmby Hills, an exclusive area of Los Angeles, CA. Prior to his death, Murray administered various drugs, including the powerful anesthetic Propofol, to the King of Pop.

Marijuana and other drugs found in Michael Jackson’s home

Jackson reportedly insisted on taking the drug to help him sleep.

At this time, no one has been charged with any wrongdoing in connection with Jackson’s death – but that could change with the release of the official Coroner’s report.

At the time of his death, Jackson was 50 and on the brink of launching a major comeback in his storied music career. He is scheduled to be laid to rest on September 3rd, only days after what would have been his 51st birthday.

The private ceremony will still take place at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. The ceremony “will be limited to family and close friends,” according to a statement issued on behalf of the Jackson family.

Story developing…
