Drew Sidora is tired of letting people play in her face, and it shows. She has been carrying season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on her back. The young reality show veteran has let the cameras into almost every aspect of her life. She stands out at a time when housewives are being dragged for not being fully authentic.

Sidora let viewers into her life by taking them everywhere from the studio to the courthouse. She faced her divorce in front of the cameras, calling out her ex and standing up for herself. Nothing has been off-limits this season, including her challenges shepherding her children through her breakup.

She was criticized for not connecting with the audience in previous seasons. And some of her castmates even questioned if she was putting the acting skills that broke up Derwin and Med School to good use by pretending during scenes of the reality show.

But this season, she was raw and ready. She gave us that prime peach holder energy that has had us hooked for sixteen seasons. When something didn’t add up, she went looking for the X factor.

She demands accountability from other housewives asking the questions that viewers are eager to get answers to. She wanted to know if Brit was selling the cat, who set up her Chicago sis, and why Porsha Williams didn’t want to believe that she wanted no parts of Dennis McKinley’s hotdog. There were no subs. She tagged people she had issues with on social media.

The singer broke the fourth wall, constantly questioning why Porsha was focused on her music business with McKinley instead of the other drama she was dealing with. She cited examples in interviews and stood on business when she was challenged. “I mean there’s a lot of things that we could talk about with Porsha’s life but yet she came here to attack me,” she said during part one of the reunion.

Basking In Accountability

We love an accountable housewife. Sidora named her album I did it to me. She sang through the pain of her separation from Ralph Pitman, turning her rough moments into smooth bops. Her album sets her apart from the heavily autotuned housewives on other franchises.

She took critiques of her wigs and switched things up. Her new look served new energy. We couldn’t get enough.

Backing It Up

Sidora posted receipts when Shamea Morton questioned the authenticity of a handbag she was carrying. Morton accused Sidora of being a liar. She said that Sidora chose to say that a bag she was carrying shaped like a cosmopolitan cocktail was designed by Judith Leiber when it was a knockoff. Sidora toted the bag when she was meeting with rookie housewife Angela Oakley for a scene.

“It was Akira,” taunted Morton as Sidora denied lying.

Housewives consider Judith Leiber bags a major status symbol. The tiny crystal-covered clutches cost thousands of dollars. Mr. Big purchased one for Carrie on Sex and The City

Morton implied that her castmate was likely lying about other facts related to the season if she was willing to lie about a prestigious label. “I feel like if you lie about the smallest of things, you’ll lie about anything,” she shouted across the reunion couch.

Sidora said the bag was in her closet. But Morton alleged that she would probably purchase a new one to save face. An Instagram story seemed to settle the debate.

Sidora took to social media to refute Morton’s claims. She posted a receipt for the purchase of the bag from Bergdorf Goodman. Morton was tagged in the post. She even used the occasion to promote her album by placing a sticker of her song “I Got 5 On It.” Petty and practical. We love to see it!

Clapping Back

Sidora sat ready to toss daggers from the reunion couch. During part one of the three-part taping, she barked at Williams one last time by name-dropping her scandalous ex-hubby, Simon Guobadia.

When Williams tried to explain why she entered the season with a vague vendetta against Sidora at the reunion, she shut it down quickly.

“Simon says you have no storyline.” Mic drop.

The finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is coming this Sunday, and we can’t wait to hear what Drew Sidora has to say next.
