Gospel singer Shirely Caesar threw herself in a media shark tank when she stepped in to defend Kim Burrell’s bigoted statements towards gay people in a 2016 sermon.

Shirley responded that Kim should’ve said those comments ‘4 years ago when the president made that stuff alright,’ according to New York Daily News.

Burrell’s comments about gays went viral a couple days ago, before she was set to appear on the Ellen Degeneres show to promote her song on the ‘Hidden Figures’ soundtrack.

“The spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women,” the 44-year-old gospel singer said in the video.
