Media mogul Tyler Perry has rustled some feathers with the all-white cast of his new TLC show, “Too Close To Home.”

Perry, who catapulted to fame through crafting plays and movies aimed at the African American audience, may have alienated his core fan base.

Perry responded to the backlash by claiming the criticism is ‘reverse racism.’

“[It’s] totally reverse racism, because [the criticism] was coming from African-American people,” Perry told the Associated Press.

“I don’t know if it was because they thought I should only be giving jobs to black people. Well, I think that’s ridiculous. If you look at the hundreds of black people I’ve given jobs to and even the ones I’ve made millionaires, people of color, I just think it’s unfair,” he said.

Unfortunately, reverse racism isn’t a thing—given there is no systematic oppression of White people in entertainment. But, good try Perry.
