December 12th was a lucky day for high school senior, Brendon Gauthier.

Surrounded by family and friends, the college hopeful opened up his laptop to check his admission status to Cornell University.

The private Ivy league university is notoriously hard to get into, boasting a 14% acceptance rate. But those statistics  didn’t deter Gauthier from listing Cornell as his first choice, according to The Cornell Daily Sun.

“It was just the most nervous I’ve felt through all my 17 years of living,” Gauthier told The Sun. “Typing on the computer was very slow to what I normally do.”

And his dream came true. When Gauthier discovers he is accepted, his family bursts into cheers. The clip has since went viral with 2.7 million views:

 

 

 

This video is a reminder that no matter what’s happening in the world, Black joy is still thriving.
