A video of a Black woman painting herself White went viral when Tashala Dangel Geyer posted herself on Instagram.
The video came in the wake of two recent shooting of Black men by police including Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Geyer’s parody was funny–but struck a chord reflective of a lot of emotions Black people are feeling in the midst of these tragedies.
Her spoof was taken down by Facebook, but quickly reposted on other social media pages.
Was it taken down because of her nudity, or “white face”/ “reverse racism” backlash.
We may never know.
