Kanye West is angering his fans — again.

This time it’s for a tweet the rapper posted. The “Fade” star is looking for models for his upcoming New York Fashion Week show, but apparently he only wants “multiracial women.”

Clearly this ushered in a wave of disgruntled social-media followers accusing the 39-year-old of really only wanting light skin and racially ambiguous women, the New York Daily News noted.

Interesting enough, the backlash didn’t stop thousands of women from lining up on Sunday to audition, a lot who admitted they didn’t see anything wrong with Kanye’s racial request.

“Multiracial doesn’t mean light skinned,” Imogen Cooper, 22, told the Daily News. “You can be multiracial and have dark skin tones or pale skin tones. It doesn’t really matter. If you look at people in line, there are people of all skin colors.”

Cooper’s friend, Jordan Rolling, echoed her sentiments.

“I don’t see anything wrong with it because it’s his vision,” the 24-year-old opined. “As an artist, if you have a vision, people shouldn’t be able to say anything about that vision.”

Now, in Kanye’s defense, his last NYFW show was melanin rich and he employs more Black models than most designers do. But given how entrenched colorism is in our society and given Kanye’s marriage to non-Black woman Kim Kardashian and his past relationship with Amber Rose, it’s understandable why Black women are offended by his tweet.

We’re not sure why the models need to be multiracial or what point he is trying to make, but time will tell on the night of his show.

Beauties, what do you say?
