Ciara may actually have a very expensive reason for taking Future to court.
In a continuation of her lawsuit against her ex-fiance and the father of her son, she claims that his defamatory tweets from January and interviews he did, scared away an international cosmetics company that would have paid her $500k.
As noted by TMZ, Ciara slapped the 32-year-old with a defamation lawsuit back in February after he blasted her on social media with tweets like, “I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture… for 15k a month,” and “I been silent for a year & a half.. I ran outta patience.”
From the formal complaint the 30-year-old alleges his comments scared her “positive reputation” and made her out to be “controlling, dishonest, malicious, unreasonable, evil, conniving,” which ultimately turned off the cosmetics company.
Earlier in the year Ciara filed for sole custody, but a Los Angeles judge gave them joint custody. During that period is when the rapper shot out those offensive tweets. But in June, Future dropped his lawsuit against Ciara, after getting more time with their 2-year-old son, Future Zahir.
It has since been debunked that she takes $15,000 a month from him for child support. But the disdain is still freshly brewing between the two.
At this point, we hope these two just work things out for the sake of their son.
