Model Winnie Harlow attended an event for Tommy Hilfiger at Serpentine Gallery in London on July 6.
The 21-year-old model came into the public spotlight when she placed on the 21st cycle of America’s Next Top Model. Since 2014, she has truly become a “top” model, serving as the face of Desigual campaign, runway shows, and most recently her appearance at Paris Fashion Week. Winnie has a rare skin condition called vitiligo, which basically makes her skin look like artwork.
Winnie arrived at the London event wearing a paisley print Balmain coordinate set. The on-trend ensemble looked chic, yet modern, on the stunning Canadian model. She paired the garments with a lacy white camisole and silver metallic one-strap sandals. She accented the look with silver jewelry.
Clearly, Balmain thought so too, as they proudly posted a photo of the model to their Instagram, which has 4.8 million followers.
The comment section was mostly positive and uplifting, with supportive remarks toward the model and how stunning and beautiful she is, but some comments were downright vicious.
From being called a “cow” …
… to individuals starting unnecessary drama.
It was painful and infuriating to read.
While Winnie was partying it up and posing with Tommy Hilfiger, others decided to subdue their boredom with cyber bullying.
Here’s to Winnie for continuing to shine and Balmain for including diverse representations of beauty (we’re waiting for a plus-size model!) in their clothing!
