“The wait is almost over,”  our beloved Cookie Monster and Golden Globe winner posted on social media this Thursday. Of course, Empire’s Taraji P. Henson was referring to her upcoming memoir Around The Way Girl (a sweet reference to LL Cool J’s famous song).

Coming out on October 11, the actress shared the cover art of her book and can we say, she looks absolutely stunning! Plus, we are loving the vintage asymmetrical bob pic of her on the back.

Flawless, just flawless.

Last April it was announced that Henson would team up with publishing powerhouse Simon & Schuster’s to pen her life story. According to USA Today, the book will be about Henson’s life growing up in a rough neighborhood of Washington, D.C., her close family, the challenges of raising a son as a single mom and her ascent from aspiring star to award-winning It-Girl.

“I’m just a girl who went to Hollywood with my son, $700, and a dream,” Henson said in a statement. “There were some detours along the way, some heartache, and a whole lot of hustle. My family, friends, and fans always keep it real with me. Know that I’m going to keep it real with you. Check out my story. I hope you laugh with me and cry with me and maybe get a little bit inspired.”

And given Henson’s down-to-earth nature and sense of humor, we bank that anyone can relate to her story of resilience and success.

“I know Taraji will bring the same magnetism and dynamism to the page that she brings to the screen,” said publisher Dawn Davis in a statement. She added, “Beyond the glamour, beyond the larger-than-life persona, [she] exudes an every-woman quality that her audience, which grew with each episode of Empire, can relate to.”

We can’t wait to read this!
