With spring in the air and Barbershop: The Next Cut about to drop in theaters on April 15, #TeamBeautiful got to thinking about how lucky we are that it’s “Fresh Cut Season.”

Ladies, we may love nothing more than a beautiful fresh do, but it’s not always about us. Let’s be real, a Black man’s haircut is essential to his look. From classic cuts to high-top fades (yes the 90s are making an epic return) a razor sharp hairline will most certainly make a woman do a double take.

So we decided to compile a list of our top five haircuts and the men who have basically become our hair follicle vanguards.

You may hear the word “pompadour” and freak out, but it can definitely be super sexy when done right. Case in point: No one does pompadour haircut quite like Miguel.

Simple can sometimes be best. It’s a classic look that screams clean cut and having it together. Pharrell’s razor sharp buzz cut reminds us that sometimes, it’s best to stick to an easy look that works for everyone.

This flashier, edgier men’s hairstyle makes a bold statement and screams confidence. It’s daring, sexy and dangerous and we are here for all of it. Usher is one star who has mastered this statement.

This look has long been a staple haircut for Nasty Nas and for good reason. The handsome Queens native’s look is just as appealing now as it was in the Illmatic days.
