Is Donald Trump trying to mend the bridges he’s burned with people of color? At a recent rally, a former Iraq and Afghanistan veteran named Alicia Watkins asked about Trump’s plans to include a veterans employment program in his new Washington hotel.
She had been prescreened by the campaign prior to the event so when it was time for the Q&A portion, Trump brought Watkins on stage for an ‘Apprentice’ style job interview. “We need good people, so what’s your experience, in front of the world?”
Watkins shared that she’s currently a freelance blogger that was previously homeless following her stint in the military. The Republican Presidential candidate said that he was impressed by the veteran’s presentation and she may have a future at Trump Enterprises.
“If we can make a good deal on the salary, she’s probably going to have a job. She looks so smart. She asked a question and it was a very positive question. She looks like she’s got a great look” said Trump.
The encounter ended with a hug and a kiss on the cheek before Watkins left with a Trump associate.
Beauties, in light of the African Americans’ that have recently been assaulted at Trump rallies, do you think it’s possible that the real estate mogul and reality star was being sincere or did he merely offer Watkins a job for publicity purposes?
