After an intensive battle with stage 4 throat cancer, Angela Raiola, known to many as “Big Ang” has died.

The 55-year-old Staten Island, native was the star of the VH1 reality series Mob Wives. Her vivacious personality helped her to score several other spin-off shows on the network.

In March 2015, she revealed that doctors had discovered a lemon-size tumor on her throat which she had surgically removed. A mere three months later, in June 2015, she had to have the surgery again.

According to ET, her family set up a GoFundMe page to help with Raiola’s doctor fees, which raised over $45,000 in two weeks.

Raiola is survived by her sister, Janine Detore, her two children, Raquel and Anthony Donfrio, and six grandchildren.
