Imitation is the best form of flattery. Beyoncé elevated into a new sphere of icon status, launching a beautiful, creative, and fashionable tribute to black people.

Formation has style.

We have devolved into the details of the Givenchy and Gucci sightings.

We are proud of all the multiple expressions of natural hair: from Afros to braids to twist outs.

There is no denying that Marni Senofonte has style and led this revolutionary fashion movement, with Beyoncé, pretty flawlessly. She’s down for the cause and I ride for the fact that she’s dope in her craft.

…but did she get a little, okay…the exact inspiration for the epic scene below from a young woman in Los Angeles?

You be the judge.

Meet Andrea Nicole James. She is a Creative Director, Stylist, Designer and all around dope  who is the epitome of trés cool. She has a statement look: round sunglasses, a neck adorned with silver statement necklaces, emulating tribal royalty of ancestors past. Her nose is decorated with a septum, which is timeless, around for centuries, yet still edgy. Her jewelry is so engaging.

There really is no denying the similarity.

I’m all for someone appreciating someone’s look…but for such a big opportunity, Marni couldn’t have added Andrea to the roster of stylists? Who to better pull off the look than the one who created it herself?

Marni Senofante, if you happen to have Google Alerts and this article delivered to your inbox…Andrea Nicole James deserves a nod. I’m all for style inspiration, but give some credit where credit is due.

Beauties, what do YOU think. Was Andrea Nicole’s style snatched? Take our poll, below!
