Morgan Freeman, 78, may have played God in Bruce Almighty, but the universe has decided that it wasn’t the legendary actor’s time to find out if the Man Upstairs is real or not.
The Mississippi native was enroute from his home state to Texas when a tire blew out on the small plane in which he was traveling. The blow-out also caused other issues with the aircraft and the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at Tunica Airport.
Neither the actor nor the pilot were injured, according to various media reports, and Freeman’s publicist issued the following statement on the Oscar winner’s behalf:
“Sometimes things don’t go as planned,” Freeman said. “But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch. I cannot say the same about my plane.”
Glad to see the actor is in good spirits after what we’re sure was a frightening situation!
