MC Lyte Refers To Fetty Wap As A Feminist

While speaking at a roundtable for the White House Council on Women and Girls, MC Lyte explained that she believes Fetty Wap is a feminist in the rap game.

Somehow, we aren’t sure how ‘Trap Queen’ fits into the feminist agenda for equal pay, equal rights and access to affordable health care.

She lauded the rapper for his ‘efforts’ saying, ‘He may have a very unique way of presenting his ideas, but he does love women. For what he’s up against in this climate with all of the other emcees, he’s taking a stand. He’s being pretty courageous right now with what it is that he presents in his music. Because it’s really not the norm.’

Yea, because cooking up crack in the kitchen is so groundbreaking in terms of hip hop lyricism and promoting women.
