Obama Spends The Day In Iowa To Announce Changes In College Financial Aid

Today, Obama talks his plans to help prospective college students by allowing them to apply for financial aid three months earlier than in years past in Iowa with Education Secretary Arne Duncan. Obama’s presence in Iowa is particularly important, as it is here that he can set the tone for the issues Democrats will have to prioritize in their platforms while running for president in the upcoming election. Obama will be speaking on the details of his plans for financial aid at a town hall in Des Moines; the White House says that moving up the financial aid application process to October from January makes it easier for applicants to determine which colleges they can ultimately afford.
