Yup. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air may be coming back to a tube near you. TV Line reports that Willi Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is in the early stages of developing a present-day family comedy along the lines of The Fresh Prince. Think of it as a remix.

The pitch is being finalized, and Overbook will begin shopping it soon according to reports. If all goes well, Smith will serve as executive producer alongside his partners, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The ’90s version of The Fresh Prince helped to launch Smith’s acting career, and ran for six seasons on NBC, from ’90-’96. It’s too early at the moment to determine what network will pick up the show if it comes to fruition, but this is an idea that Fresh Prince fans can get down with.
