iROKOtv Signs Deal Launch African Section On Netflix

iROKOtv has reached a deal with Netflix to launch a section dedicated to the African experience.

The deal was reportedly reached last December and according to iROKOtv CEO Jason Njoku, it’s a very big deal.

“Obviously with 57m subscribers globally, working with Netflix is a great first step to widening or at least improving the visibility of Nollywood. Which again is super important to us at iRoko.”

iROKOtv recently partnered with StarTimes to launch two linear channels on the payTV platform.

Netflix is the home of original series House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and the Unbreakable Kimmy SchmidtNetflix featured the African film October 1 and will soon feature a wide variety of African content.

This is huge for the African film community. We can’t wait to see the new content.
