Former New England Patriots Player Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty

A jury found Aaron Hernandez guilty of first degree murder in the killing of his fiance’s sister’s ex-boyfriend Odin Lloyd, 27. According to CNN, Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Hernandez’s lawyer claims he didn’t shoot Lloyd, but was present when the murder occurred.
“Did he make all the right decisions? No,” the ex-NFL player’s lawyer James Sultan said, according to Yahoo. “He was a 23-year-old kid who witnessed something, a shocking killing, committed by somebody he knew. He really didn’t know what to do, so he just put one foot in front of the other.”
