While attending Mott Middle College, which is where Jasmine completed all of her high school courses, she also studied at Mott Community College. According to Black Home School, the Middle College is a transitional program that integrates high school classes and college classes. The students end up graduating from the Middle College with a high school diploma and 15 college credits. Cofield earned three Associate degrees from Mott Community College before she even got her diploma. And she did it all while keeping a 4.0 average all through community college and ended high school with a 3.97 GPA.

Jasmine still went to college, even though she’s already got plenty of credentials. She is now a senior at Central Michigan University, where she’s on full scholarships to cover he Bachelor’s degree. She is studying to become a Physician’s Assistant in Neuroscience.

Jasmine is so impressive. She recently won the 2015 Newman Civic Fellow Award. This award is given to college student who have empathy for others and are capable of finding practical solutions to problems that plague their communities. So not only is Jasmine brilliant, but she’s got a golden heart! She’s traveled all over the United States with the Alternative Break program, where she has helped rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and helped transfer facilities treating HIV/AIDS patients to a more modern location. This year, she’s headed to Honduras with Global Bridges, volunteering at clinics that provide necessary services to struggling communities. We’re so in love with this amazing teen!
