At this year’s “Black Girls Rock” event, Erykah Badu, Cicely Tyson, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Ava Duvernay and more were honored as the ceremony’s celebrants. They received shiny statutes that highlighted their accomplishments. And they used that platform to encourage Black girls (and women) who were watching. But what about the other celebs who were in attendance? If they had a chance to touch the stage, what would they say? Who would they thank?

We caught up with Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, MC Lyte, Kat Graham, Lalah Hathaway, Vicky Jeudy and Danielle Brooks to give their on-the-spot acceptance speeches while they were flossing on the BGR red carpet.
