Authorities have all but thrown out foul play as the cause of Charmayne Maxwell’s death.

The former member of Brownstone fell to her death at home on Friday in a highly improbable accident. TMZ.com reports that detectives scoured her house, and the evidence they turned up suggests that she fell backward at the doorway between her house and the back porch.

Charmayne was holding a wine glass at the time, and it shattered during the accident. When she hit the ground, her hand landed where some of the shards had fallen. Pieces of glass pierced the back of her neck in two places, and she may have been knocked unconscious.

The singer’s husband found her around 9 p.m. on Friday. The couple had no history of domestic violence and cops don’t suspect that foul play factored into her death after interviewing him and a handful of other family members.

There’s no word yet on what may have caused Charmayne’s accident, but authorities speculate that she was intoxicated at the time. Her body is being examined by the coroner, so a toxicology test will be able to provide more concrete answer.
