Academy-Award winner, Jennifer Hudson is about to merge her music and acting worlds. Jennifer who won the coveted gold statue for Best Supporting Actress in 2006 for her role in Dreamgirls, will perform at this year’s telecast. Entertainment Weekly is reporting JHud’s participation in the ceremony is top secret but Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron released a statement giving a little clue as to what viewers may see.
Zadan and Meron stated:
We’re creating several musical sequences for the Oscars and we couldn’t be happier that our friend, Jennifer Hudson, will be performing in one of them.
Meanwhile, fans of Jennifer’s can see her bust out her acting chops once again but this time live on Broadway. Earlier this year, it was announced Jennifer will star in the revival of The Color Purple, where she will play the role of spitfire Shug Avery.
