There’s chatter that Katy Perry is about to pull out a major surprise for all the hip-hop lovers out there at the Super Bowl Half Time Show tomorrow!
Admittedly, we weren’t terribly excited that Katy would be doing the huge gig until reports surfaced yesterday that none other than Missy Elliott will be making an appearance during her set on Sunday. Someone with a little inside knowledge about what Katy has planned for the high-profile show told the Associated Press that Katy will bring Missy onto the field to drop a few bars during “Last Friday Night.”
This could be what Katy was hinting at when she said an “old school” female singer would be joining her on stage. While we wouldn’t necessarily call Missy old school, the pair did a remix of Katy’s hit in 2011. The Super Bowl Half Time Show would be a great occasion to dust it off and give viewers a little something extra with her fireworks.
It’s pretty rare to see an artist do their set completely solo–even Beyoncé brought out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a little Destiny’s Child reunion during her set a couple of years ago.
God willing, Missy will get to perform at least one song on her own Sunday! And if that still isn’t enough to make you tune in one Sunday, just remember: Lenny Kravitz will also be performing during the show!
