Beyonce Sued Over “Drunk In Love”

Another day…another Beyonce lawsuit.

Hungarian folk singer Mónika Juhász Miczura, also known as Mitsou, claims Beyonce recorded her voice back in 1995 during a performance of “Bajba, Bajba Pelem” and used her vocals on the beginning of “Drunk In Love.”

According to the suit, “Mitsou’s voice was [then] sampled and digitally manipulated without her permission” to be featured on “Drunk In Love.” “All together, Mitsou’s vocals are featured for over 1¹/₂ minutes of the 5¹/₂-minute song,” the suit also said.

Beyonce isn’t the only one under fire, Mitsou also targeted Bey’s hubby Jay, who she claims has been “unjustly enriched to the detriment of Mitsou.”

So what exactly is Mitsou after? The suit says, “blatant unauthorized use of [her] voice for trade purposes is causing irreparable harm and emotional distress.” Otherwise, she’s seeking unspecified damages.
