When Remy Ma was released from prison after serving nearly seven years for shooting Makeeda Barnes-Joseph, she laced up her Tom Ford boots, snapped a pic then uploaded the photo to Instagram with the caption, “I’m around #theRULER’sback.” Appropriately, she named her mixtape the same. Remy, who was readjusting to life outside of the penitentiary, wasted no time getting into the studio. And with hip-hop’s heavy hitters like DJ Khaled anticipating her return, they collaborated on “They Don’t Love Me No More” remix. Shall we even mention the BET awards cypher?

Striking while the iron is still hot, Remy dropped her highly anticipated project “I’m Around” — that proves she’s still just as gritty as her blonde bang days on Terror Squad.
