Chicago police have yet to make an arrest in the case of a little girl who was killed by a stray bullet this weekend.

Shamiya Adams‘ mother could never have imagined that dropping her daughter off at a friend’s house on Friday would be the last time she’d see her daughter alive.

The Associated Press reports that cops are still looking for the shooter who fired a round that hit Shamiya, 11, in the head during a sleepover at her friend’s house.

Shamiya’s great-grandmother, Lourene Miller, told the AP that the girls had just finished making s’mores when Shamiya got shot. The victim’s mother was grateful to have given her daughter a kiss and said she loved her before the tragic shooting.

Supposedly, Shamiya was struck by a bullet meant for someone else because Lourene claims that the gunman was shooting at a rival gang member.
