Balancing a successful career and family isn’t simple, but Tameka “Tiny” Harris makes it look effortless. “Tiny” is most famous for rounding out the vocals of 90s group Xscape, snagging a Grammy for her hand in penning the classic song “No Scrubs” and her marriage to rapper T.I. that we’ve become familiar with on “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.”

It’s “a lot of pressure, but it’s cute,” Tiny said about being dubbed the “Hip-Hop Huxtables.” Behind the scenes, when she isn’t caring for their six children, Tiny is the ultimate business woman. After starting the OMG Girlz, her record label “Pretty Hustle” and starting a new Tequila line she is evidence that it’s possible to “have it all” (while strutting from home to the office in Louboutins).

With all her new ventures and the Harris family gearing up for a new season of “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle,” we chatted with Tiny about her latest endeavors and business savvy…

HelloBeautiful: Where does your business savvy come from?

Tameka “Tiny” Harris: I’ve been working since I was a little kid. When I was young, I used to do modeling and I did a lot of print work and commercials. I did my first TV commercial when I was 12 or 13. My mother worked for IBM for 30 years and she was the one who kind of pushed me and my dad, being that he’s in the business, he did not let me rest once he found out that I had a little gift. I get it from my parents.

HelloBeautiful: Where did the idea of flavored tequila come from?

Tiny: I just wanted to do something different. I’m not a real big drinker, so I wanted to come with something good that would taste good and be able to get the job done.

HelloBeautiful: You’re also launching your record label, “Pretty Hustle” tell me about that. What kind of talent are you looking for?

Tiny: Right now, I’m focusing on the OMG Girlz and I have another girl group called French Kiss. They’re a little older. But, I’m focusing on OMG because I really have a commitment to make sure the girls get to where they want and they’re so talented and ready and I got to make sure that happens first. But, I do have this one solo artist that I’m looking into, her name is Kanai and she’s from Bermuda. So, other than that, right now, my focus is just making sure I get these girls off the ground and go off to my next artist, French Kiss and Kanai.

HelloBeautiful: How do you look for talent?

Tiny: Normally, they would go through my site, like my social media, my Instagram, Twitter and I have an email that my assistant takes.

HelloBeautiful: What’s going on with “Tiny Tonight”?

Tiny: That is up in the air. It hasn’t been an ongoing show and VH1 doesn’t have a scheduled timing slot for us. I love “Tiny Tonight.” We are speaking of doing some more “Tiny Tonight” in a different way. There is more talk about it. I’m excited for the new “Tiny Tonight” because I feel like it’s different.

What’s in store for next season of “Family Hustle”?

Next season, we’re going to be doing a lot of family stuff and just showing them the in’s and out’s. It’s not really much to it. The children are starting to think about careers and trying to get them ready. One is about to be 18, so getting her ready for the world.
