Sometimes women don’t know when to let go of a man, but Gabrielle Union has some tell tale signs of a love gone sour.

“Um, when they don’t call you back? No.” Gabrielle joked with TheJasmineBrand.com during a screening for “Being Mary Jane” in Los Angeles. “If you ever have to put ‘Never Answer‘ in the phone, that may be a good sign that relationship’s run its course.”

Outside of taking a hint from your smartphone, Gabrielle suggests that you check your heart to see how you really feel about the relationship. “If you don’t look forward to seeing them. If the relationship starts to feel like a job, could be a sign,” she said.

Then again, Gabrielle thinks that some women simply need to recognize that some guys just have an expiration date in their life.

“A lot of times as women, [we can look] at men like a carton of milk and we see the expiration date come and gone. Its spoiled, and now its curdled, and its damn near blue cheese,” Gabrielle stated. “It’s done. Throw it away. It’s gonna make you sick. We just have to recognize the obvious, obvious signs.”

On the topic of letting go, the recently engaged actress has no plans to leave her fiancé Dwyane Wade, who fathered a child while they were on a break in their own relationship. While the discovery may have been painful, the “Being Mary Jane” star lives by a bit of tough love that has never failed to help her snap out of the blues.

She shared that her quote to live states, “Bad things happen to people every day. Your pain is not unique. Now what?”
