The Five Heartbeats
Written by Robert Townsend and Keenen Ivory Waynes, this 1991 film has become a classic in many of our homes. Shoot, I watch it every time it airs on BET. Though it follows a fictional group, The Five Heart Beats is a story we have seen happen in real life many times; the rise and fall of music group. Cadillac Records
Chronicling the rise of Chess records and itās bevy of artists like Muddy Waters, Etta James, Howlinā Wolf and Chuck Berry. This Rock doc spoof is considered to be one of the most quoted films of all time.Ā Hitting screenās in 1984, Rob Reinerās comedy follows āSpinal Tapā, a rock group made up of five members and known as the āThe Worldās loudest band.ā Things donāt end well for the guys but at least we get to hear quotes like āThis piece is called, ā Like my love pumpāā from the groups guitarist Nigel.
