Reality shows often get a bad rap, and now former Miss Universe runner-up and newest star of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Joyce Giraud is calling her reality show is “vile.” The Bravo series, known for its cattiness, told New York Daily News that she feels “disgusted” by the behavior of some of her co-stars, particularly Brandi Glanville, who is under fire for making offensive statements in a recent episode.

Gianville shocked viewers across the nation Monday night when she aimed a racist insult at Giraud. During the episode, when Giraud  (pictured above) admitted she wasn’t able to swim, Gianville quipped “you’re black.”

Giraud retorted: “Yes, I’m Black. What’s your problem? Puerto Ricans are Black, they’re Indian and they’re Spanish. So I am a mix of three cultures and I’m very proud to represent all three.”

On her Bravo blog, Giraud wondered how her co-star could “put Black people in a box.” Gianville has weakly acknowledged her comments as “inappropriate” but hasn’t issued a formal apology.

Brandi definitely tried it, but at least we’re glad to see that Joyce is standing up for herself and representing for multicultural women everywhere!
