She’s been engaged for more than six months, and fans will have to wait a bit longer for Brandy to walk down the aisle and wed beau Ryan Press.

“I think I’m going to get married next year,” Brandy told the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Ryan and Brandy got engaged in 2012 during the Christmas holidays and Brandy has been busy with “The Game” and performing internationally, while fans have been waiting to hear news about the nuptials.

“I didn’t realize how hard it was to plan a wedding. Even with a planner it’s hard,” she said who recalled how the two first met.

“We met at a studio and I always thought he was cute, a little quiet. I didn’t really know where he was mentally and then I had a conversation with him later on and, you know, we just connected,” she said.

In the midst of her wedding planning and acting, Brandy has had to deal with rumors that she was unable to draw a crowd when she recently performed in South Africa, but she reiterated that it was all just a matter of miscommunication.

“They didn’t promote that I was going to be there, so it turned out the way it did,” she said.

Last week, news spread that fewer than 50 people showed up for the overseas performance at a venue that seated thousands.

“The most important thing was that I was there for the celebration of Nelson Mandela and everything that he’s done, and he opened up a Children’s Hospital there, and I was there for that to support that cause. It didn’t matter who was there, who wasn’t there. My reason for being there was for a good reason and I performed for whoever knew and whoever didn’t know. They knew when I got on stage, and I think everybody knows now,” she said. “Things like that happen sometimes.”
