Ebony Oshunrinde is not your average high school student. When she’s not keeping up with her homework, she’s in her room making beats for some of music’s biggest artists, like Jay-Z!

At the tender age of 16, Oshunrinde recently scored a production credit on “Crown,” a track from Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail.

The Canadian teen, who produces under the name WondaGirl, said the beat has “a lot of bass and a lot of bounce.”

“I want to show young people that they can do it,” she said during recent interview. “Anybody can be successful. It doesn’t matter where you’re from.”

According to reports, WondaGirl began her beat-making career at age 9 after watching a video of Jay-Z and Timberland working in the studio together.

“It inspired me and I wanted to do the exact same thing that he did,” she explained.

And, seven years later, the 11th grader has made her dreams come true. She’s currently signed to Back Box records and says “it’s a really good feeling.”

“A lot more people want to work with me now,” she added. “Usually that doesn’t really happen to 16-year-olds.”
