Janelle Monáe switches up her look in the new video for “Dance Apocalyptic,” the second single lifted from her upcoming album The Electric Lady.

The naturalista ditches her signature up-do and black-and-white uniform for long, wavy tresses and a casual all-white outfit in the clip.

And we can’t blame Monáe for getting loose! The uptempo, feel-good track makes us what to put on our dancing shoes, too.

In a recent interview with Billboard, the R&B songstress said her sophomore album, due out on September 10, represents everything about her life at this moment.

“We took our time to work on it,” she said. “We felt a shift in the world … a shift in our music and freedom, with life and politics and where we are as a society. Every time is not always the right time for you to come out with something.”
