Treasure Davis’ voice would be what I’d imagine a hummingbird would sound like if she could sing. It’s sweet, bubbly and just a bit edgy. This newbie is not starting from the proverbial bottom. Treasure is already endorsed by the incomparable Stevie Wonder and her debut single, “Someone New” features Hip-Hop legend, Slick Rick.

As soon as I heard her voice on the up-tempo track, I knew I was listening to a star. We think you should get to know more about this vocal genius! So, we’ve done the dirty work for you. You’re welcome.

Age: 25

Hometown: Los Angeles

Who are you listening to?

Over and over again “Midnight City” by M83! It’s electric!

Musical inspirations?

Marvin Gaye, Karen Clark-Sheard, The Beatles, Lauryn Hill, Cyndi Lauper and Stevie Wonder.

Biggest break thus far?

Probably an impromptu meeting I had with Stevie Wonder that turned into an hour-long jam session a short while ago.

Biggest fear as a new artist?

No fears. As long as I’m connected and sincerely sharing my truth, I know that I’m where I’m supposed to be and reaching who I’m supposed to reach.

Did you always want to be an artist?

I vividly remember at five-years-old telling my mother I wanted to be a singer, an actress and a heart surgeon and that stuck with me up until I realized Biology was not my favorite subject. Now I’m realizing, maybe I’ll help mend hearts through my music.

If you were the love child of two musicians–dead or alive–who would they be?

[Laughs] Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye.
