“American Idol” is in need of four new judges, and according to reports producers are eyeing former contestants to sit on the panel.
Sources say season three finalist Jennifer Hudson has been approached to join the singing-competition show for its 13th go-around. The “Spotlight” singer has yet to confirm any negotiations, but an “Idol” insider did revealed that the deal is “95 percent there.”
As an Grammy Award-winning singer and Academy Award-winning actress, show executives look to Hudson to bring constructive criticism to the singing hopefuls from a place of experience.
To help boost declining ratings, producers have also reached out to first “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, and past runner-ups Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken.
Do you think Jennifer would be a good fit to replace previous judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey?
