Lil Wayne: “I’m Epileptic”

Lil Wayne‘s recent stint in the hospital, after suffering a series of seizures, left fans and people close to the rapper very concerned for his health. Wayne was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after nearly spending a week in critical condition. While others blame the situation on his addiction to prescription cough medicine–“Sizzurp,” Wayne says it was because he is an epileptic!

“The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them,” he told DJ Felli Fel on Power 106. “But, this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent.”

Apparently, Wayne doesn’t think the effects of the “Sizzurp” have anything to do with his seizures. He hasn’t listed the concoction, that killed Pimp C, as a contributor to his condition. “The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though,” he said. You may remember, Wayne suffered from a series of seizures last year. “Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that.”

The third one was so bad and I live in the hills in L.A. So the reason why it was bad was that I live all the way at the top, so you know how hard it is getting down those hills. That was what was so scary about it.”

During the melee surrounding his hospitalization, trusted website TMZ, came under scrutiny for reporting that Wayne was on his death bed. Wayne’s camp viciously fought TMZ’s claims that Wayne had been read his last rites. But, Wayne may have proved that TMZ didn’t falsey report the severity of his condition. “Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious,” Wayne revealed during the exclusive interview with Power 106. “I can’t be upset at TMZ for doing what they do. They gon’ probably come out tomorrow and say something else about somebody else that ain’t true. That’s what they do. The truth isn’t good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up.”
